2006 Pinot Grigio California

This wine was harvested in late September of 2006 from both foothills and valley fruit and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 3 weeks. 2006 Riesling El Dorado

These grapes are almost always harvested last from the Keene Vineyards in Georgetown. This is to allow betritis to set in. Also knows as “noble rot”, betritis adds to both the sweetness of the wine as well as the golden color. It is crushed and goes to the press immediately to be pressed off the skins. The juice is slowly fermented in stainless steel tanks for 4 weeks and fermentation is stopped at around 2% residual sugar. This aristocratic wine boasts ginger and rose blossom on the nose, delightful fruity mid palate and a finish reminiscent of quince, honey and mango. 750 cases were bottled in January of 2007.
